① (You) do the math の意味
・「自分で考えてごらんよ。」
・“You figure it out yourself.”
・math［mæθ]：「数学」
math は mathematics を略したもので、日常では主に math の方が使われます。このフレーズも do the math として使われていますよ。
You do the math を直訳すると「自分で計算してみて」という意味ですが（その意味でも使えます）、そのことから「自分で考えてみて」という意味のイディオムになります。
文頭の You は省略されることがあります。
結果や状況が明らかな時によく使われ、「考えたらわかるでしょう」「あとは自分で考えて」というニュアンスもあります。

・She hasn’t called me since our date. You do the math.
彼女とデートしてから電話がない、だからそういうことでしょう。
・This credit card has an annual fee so you have to do the math to figure out if it’s worth it.
このクレジットカードは年会費がかかるからそれでも価値があるのか考える必要があるよ。
・If you do the math, you’ll know I am right.
ちょっと考えたら私が正しいってわかるはずだよ。
・I lent her money and now I can’t get a hold of her. Do the math.
彼女にお金を貸してから連絡がとれなくなった。あとは想像できるでしょ。
