be on the same page の意味
直訳すると「同じページ上にいる」→「同じページを読んでいる」ということになるので、同じところで理解・同意・認識している意味になります。
簡単に言うと、同じ考えをもっている です。
英語ではこのように解説されています。
We’re on the same page.
= We have the same understanding.
= We’re in agreement.
be on the same page の例文
・I love kids and I want a lot. Are we on the same page?
私は子供が大好きでたくさん欲しいけど、私達同じ意見かしら？
・Is anyone against this plan? Are we all on the same page?
この計画に反対の人はいる？ みんな同意しているということでいい？
・妻：I think you should take the job in Canada. It’s a great opportunity for you.
カナダの仕事を引き受けるべきよ。あなたにとっていい機会でもあるし。
夫：I’m glad we’re on the same page. Thank you for supporting me.
同じ考えでうれしいよ。サポートしてくれてありがとう。
→ I’m glad you’re on the same page as me. と言っても大丈夫です。
・We all need to be on the same page before we take this idea to the boss.
この企画を上司に持って行く前にみんなが同意していなければならない。
（みんなが企画に賛成で、同じ目的をもっているイメージ）
・When it comes to money, my husband and I are not on the same page. I like to save a bit but he wants to spend it all.
お金に関しては夫と私は認識が異なる。私は少しは貯金したいのに夫は全部使いたがる。
